SolRiver Capital is seeking a Director, Capital Markets. This position is for someone with demonstrable experience raising and closing tax equity and debt for small utility scale solar projects.



The Direct of Capital Markets reports to the CEO and is responsible for tax equity, construction debt, and term debt transactions for solar and storage projects across the US. In this role, you will be a strategist and key leader driving our project investments, managing existing capital relationships, and sourcing new capital.


SolRiver Capital is a rapidly growing solar investment fund focused on acquiring and operating distributed generation and utility scale projects. Founded in 2016 by solar and storage finance experts, SolRiver utilizes an innovative yet disciplined investment approach to acquire clean energy assets across the country. We began with a single $3MM system, and four years later we have projects in 8 different states, with $200MM to deploy over the next twelve months.   • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential capital providers to continually improve velocity and cost of capital.

  • Run financing processes to find and secure sources of capital that are the best fit for the company’s goals.

  • Lead and manage a deal team responsible for due diligence, modeling, documentation, closing and funding transactions to established timelines.

  • Lead diligence, modeling and documentation efforts.

  • Serve as a reliable representative of the project finance team on internal project teams and in internal discussions

  • Present and report on transaction status, risks and benefits to management.


  • Experience with solar project development and financing a must.

  • Requires an understanding of how financing contract terms and conditions influence SolRiver’s investment performance.

  • Demonstrated experiencing sourcing and closing tax equity is a must.

  • Experience managing internal deal teams as well as external consultants and lawyers to a deadline.

  • Must have a proven track record of negotiating transactions and closing solar project finance deals.

  • Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence.

  • May require extended hours.

  • Strong business development acumen.

  • Familiarity with Excel and solar project financing concepts is critical.

  • Must be a friendly, persuasive, and diligent person comfortable juggling many phone calls.
