SolRiver Capital is seeking a Director of Utility Scale Solar Origination. This position is for someone with 3+ years in utility-scale solar, in particular with the identification, diligence, and acquisition of solar projects over 50 MW.



 The Director of Utility Scale Solar Origination will be responsible for leading SolRiver’s investments in solar projects over 50 MW. This will be a critical addition to the team, reporting to the CEO. In this role, you will be , structuring, and closing large utility scale solar investments.


SolRiver Capital is a rapidly growing solar investment fund focused on acquiring and operating distributed generation and utility scale projects. Founded in 2016 by solar and storage finance experts, SolRiver utilizes an innovative yet disciplined investment approach to acquire clean energy assets across the country. We began with a single $3MM system, and four years later we have projects in 8 different states, with $200MM to deploy over the next twelve months. Business Development:
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge base of policy in existing and developing solar and storage markets

  • Source and develop new project acquisition opportunities and manage such acquisitions

  • Coordinate with project finance team for purposes of evaluation of project and market financial metrics

Project Evaluation:
  • Lead project diligence

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Construction teams from project inception through project handoff

  • Support financial analysis and evaluation of potential PV projects with the Development and Finance Teams using customized financial models.

Negotiation & Closing:
  • Manage the negotiation and closing of solar project acquisitions or investments.

  • Draft term sheets, along with structuring MIPAs, DSAs, EPC Contracts, and other agreements.


We are seeking an individual with at least three years of utility scale solar project finance experience. riented, proactive, supportive, and team-oriented.

  • 3-5 years of previous related experience acquiring or selling PV or wind projects.

  • Must demonstrate experience with projects connecting to ISOs and PURPA.

  • Experience with storage is preferred.

  • Must have experience with solar project development and financing.

  • Demonstrable experience negotiating transactions and closing deals is a must.

  • Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence.

  • May require extended hours.

  • Strong business development acumen.

  • Proficiency with Excel and solar project financing concepts is critical.

  • Must be a friendly, persuasive, and diligent person comfortable juggling

    many phone calls.
