SolRiver Capital began installation of a 5MW solar system in Sheridan City, Oregon. The solar system is expected to produce 7,930,912 kWh of electricity in the first year, equivalent to the annual energy us of almost 650 homes. According to EPA data, the system will offset over 5,600 metric tons of carbon dioxide in the first year alone – the equivalent of almost 14,000,000 miles driven in cars annually.
SolRiver’s investment into the solar project will bring other benefits, besides clean energy, to the surrounding community as well. SolRiver will become the largest taxpayer in this small community when the project finishes completion in the Fall of 2020. The city will also see several infrastructure improvements in the surrounding area due to the solar system. Further, the construction of the solar system has led to an increase in jobs in the surrounding community with SolRiver’s investment of over $10MM in the construction of the project.
